Naming Opportunities

Honor your family’s contributions or recognize someone passionate about our libraries with a Naming Opportunity in the new library.

Naming gifts from $1,000+ are displayed on the prominent Donor Wall.
Gifts from $5,000 to $500,000 are displayed in rooms chosen by the donor.

“The new Downtown Branch Library will be the centerpiece of our extensive public library system, as well as a repository of both our history and our hopes for the future. Contributing to this project not only helps to get the library built, but also represents an investment in our democracy.”    – Fred Keeley, Santa Cruz Mayor

The Friends Have a History of Success

The Friends’ Realizing the Promise Capital Campaigns raised over 2.6 million dollars to supplement library bond Measure S tax dollars between 2020-2023 – bridging the gap to fully realize our community’s vision for accessible facilities that provide up to date resources and services.

In June 2016, voters approved Measure S, the Community Facilities District Library Bond ($67M), to modernize, upgrade, replace and repair local libraries. The New Downtown Library will use $25.5M of this local funding. $5M of Measure S funds (remaining after Phase 1) will be used in Phase 2 the phase taking place during this grant period.
